Bathroom Lighting Tips

Bathroom lighting is probably more important than you think it is. When you’re building a new home or redoing the lighting in your Delaware home, you are probably inclined not to spend a ton of time worrying about bathroom lighting. But when you think about it, most of the activities done in the bathroom (makeup, hair, brushing teeth, shaving, etc.) are things requiring a lot of light. Choosing appropriate lighting for your bathroom can be the difference between comfort and catastrophe.

Vanity Lighting

The vanity lighting should be your number one priority when choosing new fixtures for your bathroom. This is the lighting that will need to serve a functional purpose. We use the vanity for all types of activities. Both men and women probably use it every day. It’s important you choose lighting fixtures you like. To reduce shadows, you’ll want to install lighting on either side of your mirror. This, combined with the overhead lighting, will make your vanity easy to use.

Overhead Lighting

Overhead lighting is your next consideration. While you’re in the bathroom throughout the day, you’ll need some sort of lighting to use the bathroom. This can be a broader, all-encompassing lighting fixture. It’s important to choose a light and bulb that casts lighting to every corner of your bathroom, as you’ll likely need it for when you’re showering or cleaning.

Accent Lighting

You may want to consider some accent lighting with a dimmer. The bathroom has become a place to relax and unwind. With some dim lighting and a warm bath, you may be able to soak away some of the stresses of the day. A dimmer will increase the functionality of the bathroom.
